Losing baby teeth is seldom as painful for your child as it was in the process of teething
Some children are excited to lose their baby teeth, while others are nervous about this childhood milestone.
Encourage your child to gently wiggle out the loose tooth. Some loose teeth can actually be rotated because the root underneath has almost completely disintegrated.
Remind your child not to yank a tooth before it’s ready to fall out on its own
If your child wants you to pull out a loose tooth, grasp the tooth firmly with a tissue or piece of gauze and remove it with a quick twist, if the tooth is resistant, wait a few days, make sure to have your child continue wiggling the tooth.
If you’re concerned about a baby tooth that doesn’t seem to loosen sufficiently on its own, check with your child’s dentist.
